With groove, feeling, solid virtuosity and a chunk of "love" in his hips Daniel Hopf drops the bass directly in the abdominal zone of his audience, infiltrating the legs and minds of the listeners. The 1983 born Osnabruck-Hamburg-Bielefeld based artist completed bass and piano studies at the Institute of Music in Osnabruck (graduating with high honors). Daniel found his love of the bass at the age of 14 and he has since made a name for himself as a studio/touring bassist in diverse genres ranging from Jazz to Gospel. As a Musical Director (Pimpy Panda, HSK-Trio) and sideman he has toured Europe with artists such as Philip Lassiter (Prince, Snarky Puppy), Cosmo Klein & Phunkguerilla, Kirk Fletcher, Hiram Bullock, Ricky Lawson, Boney Fields, Dawn Penn, Nico Gomez (The Voice), Ralf Gustke, Alana Alexander, Hanno Busch, Butch Williams (The Voice), Nica (X-Factor), Toronzo Cannon, Zacky Tsoukas, Dennis Legree, Wolf Codera, Khalif Wailin’ Walther, Gregor Hilden and many others. When he is home he can be found writing and arranging for artists. Influenced by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Eryka Badu, Robert Glasper and countless others, Daniel has used this as inspiration to create a lane in the German music market that is all his own.
